The logs
Split on site. Dried under cover.
We split our hardwood in Wenvoe and stack it in racks under a roof, so air moves through it and rain stays off.
We test it with a moisture meter before it goes in a bag. Below 20% it burns hot and clean, with less smoke and less tar in your flue.
